Living Library with the Southlake Public Library
Name: Living Library with the Southlake Public LibraryDate: March 14, 2024Time: 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM CDTEvent Description:Come meet the "books" in One Southlake's Living Library
What was it like to escape Vietnam in a boat? To live under Nazi occupation? To grow up in a "command economy" where the government decides your career and controls production? One Southlake is an exciting new history enrichment program that allows students a chance to hear first-hand accounts of people who've grown up around the world during key historical events. One Southlake draws on the stories of local speakers from nearly 40 different countries. During the program, students will be given a passport and get to tour the Living Library, getting to hear the stories of several of our speakers. Students who've toured our Living Libraries have come away with a deeper knowledge of history, economics and geography, as well as an appreciation for their freedoms and opportunities they have as Americans.
Best for ages 12 & up and their families. Registration required. Register here:
